Volunteer Policy

Hoper Seeds of Success

Summary

1. Introduction

Avenue Hope is a secular, non-political organization dedicated to the development of children and adolescents in situations of social vulnerability. We value volunteering as a powerful tool for social transformation, capable of optimizing resources and expanding the impact of our actions. Our volunteer program offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the education, culture, and well-being of our beneficiaries, their families, and the surrounding community, while strengthening community bonds and generating positive impact.

2. Definition of Volunteering

According to Law No. 9.608/1998, volunteering is an unpaid activity, provided by an individual to a public or private entity, with civic, cultural, educational, scientific, recreational, or social assistance objectives. Volunteers act freely, without an employment relationship, and their activities do not generate labor or social security obligations.

3. Resource Optimization

Volunteering is an effective way to optimize resources, allowing institutions like Avenue Hope to extend their reach and offer more services with the same resources. The dedication and expertise of volunteers complement the activities of the permanent staff, ensuring that more children, adolescents, and their families are served with quality, efficiency, and care.

4. Benefits for Volunteers

Volunteering provides a range of benefits for those who engage in
it. In addition to offering the opportunity to make a positive impact and contribute to
building a more just society, volunteering also:

  • Develops personal and professional skills: Communication, leadership, empathy, and teamwork are some of the skills developed.
  • Enhances networking opportunities: Volunteering allows you to meet new people and expand your network.
  • Promotes personal well-being: Helping others brings a profound sense of purpose and satisfaction.
  • Certification of Volunteer Hours: Volunteers will receive an official certificate recognizing their contribution.

5. Corporate Volunteering and ESG Goals

Volunteering also represents an excellent opportunity for companies aiming to align their activities with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices. By encouraging their employees to participate in social projects as volunteers, companies:

  • Strengthen social impact: Contributing directly to the development of vulnerable children and adolescents.
  • Align with sustainability and governance goals: Demonstrating commitment to social well-being and community development.
  • Develop internal talents: Volunteering allows employees to enhance their interpersonal and leadership skills, benefiting both them and the companies.
