Approved to raise funds under CMDCA Public Notice No. 01/2024, Project Hope aims to promote social inclusion and the holistic development of children and adolescents aged 6 to 14 years old who are in vulnerable situations. The project delivers continuous, structured activities in full compliance with the Child and Adolescent Statute (ECA), ensuring:
Allocate part of your income tax to Belo Horizonte’s Municipal Fund for the Rights of Children and Adolescents (FMDCA/FIA).
Companies taxed under the Real Profit regime may allocate up to 1% of their corporate income tax owed to the FMDCA (FIA). The deduction is limited to 1% of the income tax due and may be calculated on a quarterly or annual basis, according to the company’s tax structure.
The investor must deposit the desired sponsorship amount into the project’s bank account by the last business day of the current year.
The company must prepare a letter of intent for the selected project, in accordance with the tax allocation model adopted by the Belo Horizonte Municipal Fund for the Rights of Children and Adolescents (FMDCA/FIA).
Send the Letter of Intent along with the proof(s) of deposit made to the FMDCA (FIA) account to crianca@pbh.gov.br.
Following the deposit, the organization or individual responsible for proposing the project will issue a receipt and forward it to the sponsor. This receipt serves as the official documentation required for the tax deduction.
The reimbursement of the sponsored amount will take place in the following year, either through a tax refund or by offsetting the income tax payable.
Individuals may allocate up to 6% of their income tax owed to the FMDCA (FIA). The deadline for this allocation is the last business day of December, so the amount can be offset in the following year’s tax return. Individuals may choose between two ways to make this allocation:
Between the first and last business day of the year, individuals may allocate funds to the FMDCA (FIA) account and use these contributions to deduct up to 6% of their income tax owed when filing their Individual Income Tax Return (IRPF) in the year following the allocation.
During the Individual Income Tax Return filing (DIRPF), taxpayers can determine the amount available for allocation and designate up to 3% of their income tax owed at the time of filing.
Project Hope was approved under CMDCA/BH Public Notice No. 001/2024, making the organization eligible to receive funds from the FMDCA (FIA). Starting December 9, 2025, the Certificate of Authorization for
Fundraising (CACREF) will be available, containing all the information needed to proceed with donations to Project Hope, managed by Avenue Hope.
After confirming that the project is approved, make the deposit into the FMDCA (FIA) bank account. The funds must be credited by the last day of the year for the amount to be eligible for deduction on the Individual Income Tax Return.
During the Individual Income Tax Return (DIRPF) filing, choose the option ‘Donations Directly in the Return’ and select the ‘Children and Adolescents’ tab.
After submitting the tax return, issue the DARF (Federal Revenue Collection Document) to pay the amount allocated to the FMDCA (FIA) at the time of filing.
Make the DARF payment using a checking or savings account held in the name of the taxpayer/individual donor.
The company must prepare a Letter of Intent for the selected project, following the tax allocation model used by the Belo Horizonte Municipal Fund for the Rights of Children and Adolescents (FMDCA/FIA).
Send the Letter of Intent along with the proof(s) of deposit made to the FMDCA (FIA) account to crianca@pbh.gov.br.
The Municipal Council for Children and Adolescents must issue a receipt in favor of the donor, signed by an authorized person and the council president, specifying:
Send the receipt issued by the Council to the person responsible for fundraising at the organization managing the approved project.
“For verification purposes, individuals must record the donations made during their income tax return filing in the ‘Donations Made’ tab.
IMPORTANT: The deduction will only be applied if the taxpayer chooses the Complete Declaration and submits the return within the annual deadline set by the Federal Revenue Service.
For verification purposes, the taxpayer must keep the receipt(s) of the donation(s).
