We\u2019ve prepared a brief glossary with the main terms to help you better navigate our Privacy Policy.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Avenue Hope:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> refers to the nonprofit association, authorized by the beneficiary\u2019s parent or legal guardian to provide services related to education.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Service<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: refers to all Avenue Hope Services, including educational services and complementary services, as explained above.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Beneficiary<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: refers to the children and teenagers enrolled in the institution\u2019s activities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Parents or Guardians: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are the parents or legal guardians of the beneficiaries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Volunteering<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: a set of actions or activities carried out by volunteers, either organized or individually, aimed at supporting, promoting, and strengthening the organization\u2019s mission free of charge, always respecting the principles of gratuity, solidarity, and social responsibility.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Volunteer<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: an individual who, freely, voluntarily, and without employment ties, provides unpaid services to Avenue Hope, contributing to its activities, projects, or social causes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Personal Data:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> all and any information related to a person that identifies them or makes them identifiable. For example: name, CPF (Brazilian taxpayer ID), address, date of birth, email, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Data Protection Authority<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: the bodies responsible for overseeing and regulating the compliance with data protection obligations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Consent<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: a free, informed, and unambiguous expression by which the data subject agrees to the processing of their personal data for a specific purpose.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Sensitive Personal Data:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> personal data related to intimate aspects of a person\u2019s life that may lead to discrimination. Examples: data on racial or ethnic origin; data on religious beliefs or political opinions; genetic or biometric data and health-related data; data related to a person\u2019s sexual orientation..<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Purpose<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: a principle of the LGPD that establishes that data processing must be carried out for legitimate, specific, explicit, and informed purposes, without the possibility of subsequent processing in a manner incompatible with these purposes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Privacy Legislation: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">any and all laws or regulations aimed at protecting personal data, ensuring that it is collected, used, and stored in a transparent and secure manner.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Examples: LGPD (Brazil).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Processing<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: refers to any action performed with personal data. Article 5, X, of the LGPD, as well as Article 4 of the GDPR, are very broad, and almost anything done with data falls under the scope of these laws, such as collection, use, access, storage, and transfer of data, among others. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Data Subject<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: is the individual to whom the Personal Data being processed refers. (b) dietary health (food restrictions, allergies and intolerances, dietary preferences and habits); (c) mental health (emotional state, medical\/psychological diagnoses, beneficiary behavior); (d) socioeconomic status (individual or family income, employment or unemployment status of parents, family members, or legal guardians, type of housing, access to social benefits, sanitation conditions, access to water and electricity);
